John Robe

Team Role: President & Project Manager - Electrical Team Lead

John is a senior majoring in Computer Engineering. He has over 9 years of programming experience, and is the 2013 Utah State Computer Technology Sterling Scholar Recipient. He has released multiple applications for both the Apple and Android App Stores, and has developed over 20 websites. John contributed substantially to the electrical & autonomous systems on the 2016 robot, suggested and guided mechanical design decisions, and managed team members to accomplish our goals for the 2016 year. This is the second year John will be leading the team as the President & Project Manager.


Cole Mortensen : Electrical and Programming Team Member

Cole Mortensen

Team Role: Electrical and Programming Team Member

Cole is a sophomore in Computer Engineering at the University of Utah. He has five years of robotics experience specializing in electronics and programming. He has worked on projects for the Department of Energy as well as the University of Utah.


Matthew Wilson : Electrical and Programming Team Member

Matthew Wilson is currently a sophomore in computer engineering.  This is his second year on the team. He has helped the team with Solidworks design and modeling.  He has an interest in space exploration and developing robots to aid in this endeavor.


David Denson : Mechanical Team Lead

David Denson is a Senior in Mechanical engineering. He is married and has two daughters. He has a passion for classic cars. Dave is the Mechanical  Team Lead this year.


Teresa Petty : Mechanical Team Member

Teresa Petty

Team Role: Mechanical Team Member

Teresa Petty is currently a Senior in Mechanical Engineering at the U. She has worked on projects for the Mechanical Design Day Competition, as well as with the College of Engineering Outreach Department. Her interests include manufacturing and micro-technology, as well as STEM outreach for K-12 students as a part of the Engineering Ambassadors Program.
